Game of Thrones prequel 'House of the Dragon' set to premiere

HBO's highly anticipated prequel to 'Game of Thrones' is set to premiere on August 21, 2022.

'House of the Dragon' is based on George R.R. Martin's novel 'Fire & Blood' and tells the story of the Targaryen civil war, which took place 200 years before the events of 'Game of Thrones.'

The series stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and Emma D'Arcy. Considine plays King Viserys I Targaryen, Smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, Cooke plays Alicent Hightower, and D'Arcy plays Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

The first season of 'House of the Dragon' will consist of 10 episodes. The series has already been renewed for a second season.
